The Therapeutic Setting & Our Relationship
Through ongoing, discrete professional appointments that are ethically and legally bound by confidentiality, we will meet in the privacy of my office.
Our time together is focused on the issues that are most important to you: problems that trouble you, relieving emotional pain, gaining insight through self-reflection, and developing your core self.
How we work together is up to you. I am primarily oriented to longer-term work, where you and I look closely at your childhood relationships and how they may be impacting you and your primary relationships. However, I also have extensive experience in crisis intervention and brief therapy.
How Many Sessions?
The overall number of sessions depends on you, your needs and financial circumstances (including allowance for insurance). Generally, we will decide together as we go along on the frequency and length of your treatment.
How Does Change Happen in Psychotherapy?
I will listen to you with kindness and without judgment to create a safe environment where you can feel comfortable disclosing your innermost thoughts, feelings and fears. Together, we will work to understand their meaning, then help you heal and integrate them into a greater sense of wholeness.
Over time, a feeling of freedom and self-expansion emerges. Our process also helps you gain the capacity for self-reflection, which will help you feel more spontaneous, alive and truly yourself.
